Meet Iona

Iona Stoddard is a dedicated and passionate councillor committed to serving the residents of District 12 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With a deep connection to the communities of Timberlea, Lakeside, Beechville, Clayton Park West, and Wedgewood, Iona brings a wealth of experience and a heartfelt commitment to her role.

Community Involvement

Iona is not just a councillor but a neighbor and a friend to many in District 12. She has been involved in numerous local organizations, volunteering her time and expertise to support community events, local schools, and neighborhood programs. Her hands-on approach and genuine care for her community have earned her the trust and respect of her constituents.

Vision & Goals

Iona’s vision for District 12 is one of unity, progress, and inclusivity. She aims to continue her work on improving local infrastructure, enhancing public safety, and fostering a sense of community. Her goals for the upcoming term include advocating for better public transportation, supporting small businesses, and ensuring that all residents have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

National Aboriginal Day

In June 2024 we raised a Mi’kmaq Grand Council flag for National Aboriginal Day.

Menstrual Health Day

On May 28th, 2024, we raised the Menstrual Health flag in HRM, Nova Scotia.
